An example job at a made-up firm. Nothing is saved, nothing is sent, and no account is needed.

A day on it.

One job all the way through: Dave Mullins at Halstow Scaffolding Ltd, their card at seven in the morning, the yard's side of it, and the certificate the customer opens three weeks later. Every sentence below marked as the app's is the app's own. Almost all of it is printed by calling the code that runs the product; the few lines written into a screen and copied instead are named with the file they came from, and a test goes red the day that file stops saying them.

Open a yard · Work out a kit list, free · What it is

  1. Step 1 of 12

    Their stops today

This is the whole of what a chargehand gets. No account, no password: the yard texts them a link and this is behind it. It is Dave Mullins's day at Halstow Scaffolding Ltd, and it is an example, so nothing on it is anybody's real work.

    • Your jobs for today, in order. Tap one to open it, tick it when it is done.
    • 0 of 2 done · 2 to go
  2. Step 2 of 12

    Signed in for work

Someone on the books taps this when they turn up. The yard sees who is in. It is evidence and it is never treated as a fact: it says their phone was there at that time, and it says nothing about whether they worked.

    • On site
    • Location to within 18 m.
    • No location: they said no to location on their phone.
  3. Step 3 of 12

    They tap one

The address, the customer's number to ring, and what goes on the lorry.

    • Erect · 14 Chapel Row, Elmstead
    • What you need · 22 lines
    • Inspection · Tile Kiln Lane
    • Inspected
    • Tell the yard you have inspected it and it is safe to use? It goes on this scaffold's inspection record with your name on it, and that record cannot be edited.
    • Done
  4. Step 4 of 12

    RAMS signed, scaff tag on

Two marks, and neither of them blocks anything. The RAMS is signed with a finger and their name, the tag is a tap, and they can tick the job done with both untouched. The yard sees what was not said, and what was not said is the thing the yard acts on.

    • RAMS signed
    • Scaff tag on
    • Leave it if there is no tag on it yet. The yard sees that and sorts it out.
  5. Step 5 of 12

    The photographs

On the real card each of these opens the camera. This page asks for nothing: no camera, no permission box, no upload. The tiles are here so you can see what a finished job carries back to the yard.

    • Scaff tag
    • Finished job
    • Damage
  6. Step 6 of 12

    Behind the building, no signal

A gang works in the one place a phone does not. Turn the signal off below and tick anyway. Nothing is lost and nobody rings the office.

    • 1 thing waiting for a signal. It is saved on this phone and goes when this screen is open and you have a signal. Carry on.
    • 2 things waiting for a signal. It is saved on this phone and goes when this screen is open and you have a signal. Carry on.
  7. Step 7 of 12

    They tick Erected

One tap, then a sentence they can disagree with. Never a blank are you sure, which teaches anyone to tap through it without reading.

    • Erected
    • Tell the yard this is erected? It goes to the yard with your name on it, and you can put it right until the yard confirms it.
    • Erected. The yard has it, and the yard does the rest.
    • That goes to the yard with your name and the time on it. If it is wrong you can put it right below, until the yard has confirmed it or OK'd it.
  8. Step 8 of 12

The yard says it is on hire

Same job, same minute, back on the laptop at the yard. They said it is up. Nothing has moved and nothing has been charged, because the tick from the field is evidence and the yard's is the fact.

    • Dave Mullins says it went up today.
    • Confirm it and the hire runs from that day. Nothing is charged until you do.
    • Dave Mullins says it went up on 16 Oct 2026.
    • Yes, it went up
    • Confirming says it is up from the day they say it went up, and the weeks agreed in the quote run from that day. Nothing extra is charged inside those weeks, and nothing moves until you confirm.
  9. Step 9 of 12

    What the desk asks next

Three weeks of one job, and the desk never shows more than the next press. Nothing here is a reminder somebody set: every line is worked out from what the job already holds.

    • Inspect it.
    • Not inspected yet
    • Invoice the quote, £3,400.00.
    • It is up. The quote covers the weeks agreed; extra hire is only ever your choice past them.
    • The agreed weeks end in 7 days. Ring the customer.
    • More weeks, or book the strike. Extra hire is only charged if you choose it.
    • Weeks up: charge extra hire, or no charge?
    • Past the 2 weeks agreed by 3 days.
    • Invoice extra hire, £72.86.
    • Charging extra hire for 3 days past the agreed weeks.
  10. Step 10 of 12

    What the customer opens

The customer gets a link and opens this with no sign-in and no account. It is Halstow Scaffolding Ltd's certificate, on Halstow Scaffolding Ltd's letterhead. Our name is on none of it, and there is no setting anywhere to put it there.

    • Step 11 of 12

      It comes down

The customer rings to say they have finished with it. You press Off hire it and the hire stops that day, not the day it comes down. The strike goes on their list, they tick Dismantled, and you confirm it.

      • Step 12 of 12

        The invoice, and paid

The last invoice goes out under your name. When the money lands you mark it paid, and the job is done.
